In retrospect, it might be difficult to come to terms with the fact that an individual could hold the entire south west to ransom. There is no doubt that Tinubu has succeeded in buying the Lagos State government, and he has done this using government funds.

Friends of a Nigerian woman who has died after allegedly being beaten by a kung fu instructor hold a demonstration against gender violence in Bilbao on Tuesday.

Mauren Ada Ortuya, a 29-year-old prostitute, passed away on Wednesday, according to the Basurto hospital in Bilbao, where she had been receiving treatment after police found her Sunday at Juan Carlos Aguilar’s gym.
Ortuya was taken to hospital in a very serious condition, after being found badly beaten all over her body and with her hands, neck and feet tied. Further investigations by the police of the gym and the home of Juan Carlos Aguilar revealed human remains, which the self-styled kung fu expert admitted had belonged to a Colombian woman, whom he had also killed.

As the controversy rages about the stupendous wealth of Nigerian jet flying Pastors despite the abominable poverty that pervades amidst their followers,i came across this rather interesting perspective that shows that extremes of these prosperity preachings is really going against the concept of what Jesus stood for when he was on earth.Acquiring wealth to give back should be the mantra of any decent christian,rather than a gluttonous accumulation of wealth.

I believe it is really unconscionable for any Nigerian religious leader to milk his flock either monetarily,sexually,emotionally all to satisfy their own cravings. How does the acquisition of numerous jets make these ministers feel when Jesus Christ himself while he was alive had very little personal belongings. Infact he rode on a donkey,i am aware that there were more opulent ways to navigate around that would have been relevant to Jesus's times such as having gold plated Chariots with superbly adorned white horses. Jesus did not do any of that,but our current spiritual leaders try to rationalize all their material acquisitions that it helps them to propagate the gospel,well you should make sure that your flock's needs are well met before you start acquiring all these opulent materials.

It was the eve of valentine of 2013; I had settled for the night then came one of those dreaded late calls. It was Ben calling courtesy of the caller ID. I turned to my better half and rattled, “ I don’t like this call.”

“Sunday nwulu,” (Sunday is dead) came from half shivering and half nervous voice of Ben. I didn’t ask to know where Ben was; in unison we started heading to a townhouse that Sunday was renting south of Burtonsville Maryland. Ben arrived a couple of minutes ahead of me. We arrived didn’t, know what to expect.  The blinding police cum coroner flashing lights got me dizzy and disoriented; I didn’t know what questions to ask.Still forming questions in my head before looking for answers; I scanned the area around the entrance to his townhouse trying to make eye contact with the police. The police gave me the fat-chance look because the whole area around his townhouse had become a crime scene temporarily. Meanwhile I was still sitting in my car a safe distance from several police cruisers.
