Oyo state first lady spoke to the 'Nation' newspapers to disprove the recent news that she was arrested by the London Metropolitan police for money laundering. According the first lady,she was not arrested as alleged. She claimed that she frequents the UK because she has a 14 year old who attends school in the UK. The question that springs up is the fact that ,as the First Lady,who pays for these trips to UK to see her daughter. Why is it that Nigerian ruling elites send their wards to schools outside the country?
Does it mean that no school within Oyo State and the entire nation is good for her child?
Any leader who wants to run for public office should have their wards attend public schools,if they can't guarantee that,then there is no need to run for public office. If the public schools are not good for your children,then the public office should not be good for Mrs Ajimobi and her husband. A leader should lead by example,how can the governor be telling us that he is going to UK to attract foreign investors when everything his family uses is from an overseas country. Once you become a leader and start drawing income and allowances from tax payers money,there are sacrifices and adjustments that has to be made and one of them is to be on the side of the people you are ruling by showing good examples. You can not expect the populace to take you serious when you claim you mean well for the public education sector of the state when all your children are enrolled in foreign schools are high cost. You have to relate with the people you claim to be ruling and relating with them means you have to use the facilities that they utilize also.

TARABA STATE GOVERNOR FLOWN OUT

Taraba state governor who was involved in an air crash may have been flown outside Nigeria for medical care. As usual Nigerian leaders continue to mismanage the healthcare sector and resort to leaving the country to take care of themselves at any slightest illness leaving the rest of the populace to fend for themselves. The governor was said to have sustained central nervous system trauma and the bill for the air ambulance that ferried him outside can pay for the wages of all the medical doctors in his state. Also all the aides who were with the governor during the crash and who sustained injuries were all left in Yola Specialist hospital. This is the paradox of what goes on in Nigeria and we hope that our ruling elites will wake up to their responsibilities

ERIC ABIDAL THE LEGEND

Abidal's life has taken many trajectories and challenges but he has shown that he is a fighter who continues to serve as a source of encouragement for all of us. After his battle with liver cancer and subsequent liver transplant, he spent six weeks in the hospital recuperating. Now his outlook to life has changed according to Eric’s own admission. He sold his fast cars and gave the proceeds to children's hospitals.

"I see life differently," he said. "Many things I thought were useful or important, now they are not. Therefore I have sold all my cars. When something happens to you as happened to me, then these cars are useless ... it's better to sell them and give money to associations and hospitals, use it to help children. I learned a lot from them. They gave me strength."

Eric Abidal’s life should serve as a lesson to all of us and especially the highly paid footballers with such huge ego that life is more important, as that is the pitch where we all need to win.

In summary Eric Abidal before cancer is a great player and the Eric Abidal that has evolved after surving the cancer deserves to be placed in the hallowed chambers where legends of the game and legends of life trudge.

I DEMAND JUSTICE FOR THE ABUSE I SUFFERED-MRS QUEEN AKINDELENI

Mrs. Queen Akindeleni is demanding justice,please share her story and leave comments below. Just as the cyberspace helped force the authorities to bring the Aluu 4 killers to justice,this woman's case need to be investigated. Here is her story in her own words… I was a property developer and seller of building materials at Edu Agbara, Ogun State prior to my arrest, detention and injuriously torture sometimes in October, 2009. I woke up one morning and suddenly allegations were made against me was that I was responsible for the death of my husband Mr. Ayodele Akindeleni whose where about could not be ascertained at the time, then the matter was reported at Agbara Police Station, Agbara, Ogun State. I went to Agbara Police Station, Agbara,Ogun State, myself on the 12thof October 2009 to report the matter after I was threatened by the family of Mr. Ayodele Akindeleni that they will kill me and my Children, Charles Ighovoyiwi and Esther Ighovoyiwi, if I did not tell them the where about of Mr. Ayodele Akindeleni. I made the compliant on the threat to my life and the lives of my children, I was not permitted to leave the Police Station, and as my children came one after another to look for me, they were also arrested. They expected me to make a confessional statement that I killed Mr. Ayo Akindeleni, after his family member, James Akindeleni, came to complain. The D. P. O. of Agbara Police Station at that material time told the team investigating the case that they should not call the case murder case, but rather missing of Mr. Ayo Akindeleni. My son Charles came to look for me after he came back from school and it was the heavy noise of his cry that made me knew he was around. Charles later told me and I believe it to be true that it was the back of a gun that was used to hit him at his legs. I totally do not know anything about the disappearance of Mr. Ayodele Akindeleni, neither was I responsible for his alleged death, on a Saturday I was taken to one bush to go and see one skeleton/Carcass they called the carcass of Mr. Ayo Akindeleni. The next day which was Sunday the team of Police Officers who investigated the case at Agbara Station, excluding DCO 1, whose name I did not know, and the D. P. O., came to station and took me out. The team of Police Officers who investigated the case at the Police Station ,Agbara, Ogun State, tortured me with cruelty that I must confess that I killed the alleged deceased person. I can only remember the first names of two out of the team of Police Officers who were involved in this case at Agbara Police Station, Agbara, Ogun State; the first names are Shadrach ( DCO 2) and Raphael. Shadrach gave me one straight metal with four corners, which looked like window aluminium to carry and tell him whether it was heavy or not. I told him the metal was heavy and he took it from me and Shadrach started using it to beat me repeatedly on the left side of my body from up to down. Then later the three other Police Officers joined him (Shadrach), they beat me with the metals in their hands and led me to the Barrack (the Police residence within the premises), as I was struggling to climb the veranda Shadrach used the metal in his hand to strike me hard at my back, I fell down immediately and could not stand. As they were doing these I was screaming and wailing with pain that was beyond description. They later took me into a bathroom, and i was asked to remove my under wear (pant). The team of Police Officers who investigated the case asked a female officer, whose name I could not remember, to insert the metal which Shadrach gave her into my private part. The Female Police officer asked me to be screaming as if she has inserted it and I did as she instructed me.The Female Police officer later told them that she had inserted the metal into my private part but I did not confess. Then Shadrach came to the bathroom and took the metal from the female officer and tried to perceive it smell/odour to confirm if it was truly inserted into my private part. Shadrach discovered that the metal was not inserted into my private part, he took it himself and held me with force to the ground, with my legs wide opened and forcefully inserted the metal into my vagina. As Shadrach inserted the metal into me forcefully, I screamed with the whole of my strength and I felt as if life had gone out of me. Then immediately he removed the metal I faintly saw a heavy rush of blood out of my vagina, but was weak and helpless. I was held and partially carried back to the passage of the Police Station, Agbara where I was laid on the floor. I was there on the floor blood continued to flow and I discovered that I eventually fainted, because I woke up and I saw myself soaked with water.When the D. P. O. of the Police Station saw me, he was surprised and asked whether they tortured me and they responded that they did not torture me. I was not attended to by anyone and I started smelling. About four days later a man was invited to examine me and they later brought drugs for me to use.I discovered that with the drugs I was given the flow of blood reduced. I then noticed that urine was just leaking out of my private part and I could not control it at all. My daughter Esther Ighovoyiwi who was twelve (12) year old at the material time was arrested on the same allegation at Agbara Police Station, Agbara, Ogun State by the team of Police Officers who investigated the case. While Esther Ighovoyiwi was in detention, though only for that day when she came to look for me, at Agbara Police Station, she was severally slapped and inhumanly assaulted, by Shadrach, to the extent that she became sick and had her ears discharged pos uncontrollably under groaning pain.Esther Ighovoyiwi was eventually released on bail after her arrest and brief detention, which I knew, was unlawful. My son Charles Ighovoyiwi who was Fourteen years old (14) at the material time was arrested, detained and tortured by the team of Police Officers who investigated the case, they beat up CharlesIghovoyiwi, using sticks on him and even threatened to kill him. My son spent one month and twenty nine days in detention at Agbara Police Station, Agbara without being charged or convicted of any crime. After I was transferred to Nigeria Police Force, State Headquarters,Elewe Eran, Abeokuta, Ogun State, my son tod me that he was released by the influence of one man, whose name he did not know. The Police Officers who were equally part of the investigating team at the Nigeria Police Force, State Headquarter, Elewe Eran, Abeokuta, knew I was tortured and blood and urine was flowing from my vagina. They then went on to summon the team of Police Officers who investigated the case at Agbara Police Station and he asked me to identify the person that inserted metal into my vagina, which i did. However i was not provided with medical attention at Elewe Eran, Nigeria Police Force Headquarters, Abeokuta throughout my stay there. I was took into the Prison Custody, Nigerian Prison Service, Ibara, Abeokuta, Ogun State, with blood stained clothes and I was walking half-bent and I had to lean on someone, sometimes standing objects and walls to support myself.Even the staff of the Nigeria Prison Service, Ibara, Abeokuta, Ogun State at the material time, including the medical personals at the Prison’s Clinic knew that my vagina was releasing urine uncontrollably and I had chronic pains in my back, bones and other parts of my body. I was later given treatment in the Clinic of the Nigeria Prison Service, Ibara, Abeokuta, Ogun State, and I was referred to Federal Medical Centre, but there was no money for my treatment. I was not taken to any Hospital for treatment outside the Nigeria Prison Service, Ibara, Abeokuta, Ogun State. During my stay at Ibara, i was interviewed by delegates from Citizens’ Right Department, Ministry of Justice, Oke Mosan, Abeokuta, Ogun State, I was also interviewed by one Barr. Ashaolu Joshua Olabowale , sometimes in July, 2010, who I identified as a member of the National Youth Service Corps because of the NYSC uniform he wore at the welfare Department, Nigeria Prison Service, Ibara, Abeokuta. Barr. Ashaolu Joshua Olabowale told me and I very believed him to be true that he was serving with Ministry of Justice Ogun State as 2010/2011(BATCH A) member. He then told me that he was interested in my case. On subsequent visit to the Nigeria Prison Service, Ibara, Barr. Ashaolu Joshua Olabowale told me that he was handling my case personally, but was supervised by a senior State Counsel at the Citizens Right Department, Ministry of Justice, Ogun State. I was released on 2ndof September,2010 by the Order of the Chief Magistrate Court, Agbara based on the Advice of the Director of Public Prosecution, Ministry of Justice, Ogun State.I was made to understand that the allegation against me was frivolous, baseless and lacks merit, particularly considering the facts and evidence of the police. They said that i and my children suffered for what we did not know about. After my release from the Prison Custody Barr. Ashaolu Joshua Olabowale took me to the Federal Medical Centre, Idi Aba, Abeokuta, where I was examined at the Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology and I was asked to run several tests. My Hospital Card number is 80626. After the medical examinations and tests were carried out, Barr. Ashaolu Joshua applied for my Medical Report. I was confirmed to have Vesico-Vaginal Fistula (VVF), which it main symptom is continuous involuntary discharge of urine, because of the abnormal openings in the internal parts of my genital/vagina caused by the metal the Police Officer inserted into my Vagina. I was scheduled to undergo further examination which I was preparing for when I lost contact with Barr. Ashaolu Joshua O. All my efforts to get him proved abortive, because I left the place where I was squatting and I was not using a mobile phone. I did not hear from him or see him till the end of his stay in Abeokuta. I went to the Citizen’s Right Department, Ministry of Justice, Abeokuta, Ogun State and I was told to go and treat myself because they cannot take up the matter for me.I was told by one of the Doctors that examined me that my case requires a major repair surgery and I know it must be very expensive. They said i could not go for the final examination and treatment because I had no money. I am still living with my situation and it is even worst now, because I ooze foul odour and release urine involuntarily, apparently an effect of a ruptured bladder occasioned by the inhuman torture I suffered in the hands of the Investigating Police Officer at Agbara Police Station, Ogun State. So because I could not afford to treat myself in Abeokuta and to avoid the way I am being openly embarrassed by the way I smell, the way I am rejected and avoided, I relocated to a village in Ogun State, where I now farm to survive. I was a sucessful business woman before, had taken a long walk from Agbara police detention to elewe eran, abeokuta police detention to nigeria prison service custody to abeokuta township as wonderer and now in a village in ogun state living alone, apparently waiting for my end. I have been kicked out of the public, I have to withdraw because I am often rejected and avoided.I have lived with continuous flow of urine from my Vagina and have used cloths among others as sanitary pad to pack my genital/vagina for more than one thousand (1000) days.The trauma of the barbaric acts still frightens me. The V. V. F., general body and internal pains and other health issues confirmed in my body after examinations still remain untreated. my consultant can be reached on 07051647234 This injustice left my children, Charles Ighovoyiwi and Esther Ighovoyiwi with a bitter and dreadful story, which they will live with for the rest of their lives.Charles Ighovoyiwi, who was a student of Tech 1, Technical College Igbesa, Ogun State missed all school activities for a whole school term. Esther Ighovoyiwi (age 12) who was a student of Edu Agbara Community Secondary School had to leave school and fend for herself. My children are now drop outs and have no hope of going back to school. My little Esther had to become a mother when she never wanted.

BOKO HARAM COMMANDER AND SENATOR ZANNA

Boko Haram's commander allegedly arrested in the house of Senator Zanna representing the Borno Central Senatorial District. Mohammed Shuaibu Bama was picked up at the Damboa Road home of Senator Zanna in Maiduguri's GRA. Senator Zanna is claiming that the suspect is his nephew but that he was not arrested in his house. This is the second serving senator who is supported by tax payers money and yet alleged to be linked to Boko Haram.

Dino Melaye may have found himself emeshed in another unconfirmed allegation. More troubles await the husband of Tokunbo Melaye. He has now been dragged into another controversy,in addition to the pregnancy issue he is in with Yoruba actress, Bisi Ibidapo Obe. According to what BON reported, another up and coming Yoruba actress has accused the father of three of infecting her with a sexually transmitted disease called Syphilis. She also alleged Dino to be a potential carrier of the dreaded HIV virus.BON reported that a budding actress (name withheld) sent a mail to them detailing her sexual transaction with Dino. Last year, I met one of the big names in the industry who lives in Magodo and she became my friend and we were relating on sister basis. She was very nice to me and she even gave me a role in her movie directed by Muyideen and shot in Omole Estate. On my birthday last year (2011), she (the big actress) used my picture on her bb (BlackBerry) and Hon. Dino saw it and begged that she hooked us up. She did but told me plain that she was not asking me to date him that the choice was mine.Hon Dino started wooing me, he will call for long hours and he changed my phone and at one instance gave me 250,000 to change my wardrobe. Pakistan police said that they have made arrests in connection with the shooting of Malala Yousafzai, the 14-year-old girl who has become known all over the world as a beacon for peace and the rights of young women to receive education despite discrimination. Dawn, a Pakistani newspaper, stated that the police in Yousafzai’s native Swat Valley have made the arrests. Details are still sketchy on the number of suspects, their role in the shooting incident.Yousafzai, and two of her friends (all were girls) , were shot and wounded on their way home from school. The Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack.Malala had a bullet removed from her body in an operation earlier in Pakistan and is in critical but stable condition in a military hospital in Rawalpindi,Pakistan Raja Pervez Ashraf, Pakistan's prime minister visited her a in hospital and declared that "It was not a crime against an individual but a crime against humanity and an attack on our national and social values," he said.

Ugbaje said that the crowd accused the boys of trying to break the door of one his co-tenants named Bright Ugbaje added that while one policeman at the scene of the incident pleaded with the mob to hand over the students to them, another beat the students. “Along the line, two policemen arrived. One of the policemen was pleading (for the boys), the other one joined in beating the boys. After beating the boys, the police now said the boys should be handed over to them. The crowd shouted, ‘We no go gree, we no go gree,” he said

VISA PROGRAM FOR INTERNATIONAL MEDICAL GRADUATES EXTENDED TO 2015

Visa waiver program for international medical graduates extended to 2015 A federal program that increases the physician workforce in underserved areas has been reauthorized for another three years under a bill signed just days before the program was set to expire.Legislation signed by President Obama Sept. 28 extends the Conrad 30 J-1 Visa Waiver Program through Sept. 30, 2015. Under this program, international medical graduates (IMG) who completed U.S. residency training on a J-1 visa may request to stay in the country if they agree to practice at least three years in a medically underserved community. Physicians and others granted a J-1 visa are required to return to their home country for at least two years before applying to live or work in the United States.Since the program began in 1994, it has allowed more than 9,000 physicians to care for patients in medically underserved areas, according to a recent article in American Medical News .A separate bill introduced in 2011 would permanently reauthorize the program and allow an expansion of the annual cap of J-1 visa waivers per state. The AMA continues to urge Congress to adopt this legislation, which closely reflects program reforms the organization has called for. The bill also would extend the program to physicians on H-1B visas.

I WATCHED THEM KILL MY BROTHER

A sister of one of the four University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT) students brutally murdered last Friday in Umuokiri village, Aluu, Rivers State, has narrated how her younger brother and his friends were lynched. Miss Ibisobia Elkanah, elder sister of Tekena Friday Elkanah, revealed yesterday that policemen visited the scene where the students were burnt to death after they were severely injured and that one of the law enforcement agents told the perpetrators of the dastardly act “to burn them alive” The murdered students, Chiadika Lordson, Ugonna Kelechi Obusor, Mike Lloyd Toku, and Tekena Elkanah, all part two students, were murdered in cold blood over alleged theft of a laptop computer and a blackberry phone. Ibisobia, a part-time final year student of Marketing, at the same university who witnessed the incident, said on that fateful day, at about 7.30 am, she was at the house of her girl friend in the community when she heard people shouting outside. “I dashed out and beckoned on my friend to come since she lived in the area. The thing attracted much noise and attention. I went there but did not actually see or recognize any of them, due to the crowd. “I heard when people were saying the people they (vigilance group) caught were strangers; that they want to burn them. They said they were asking them questions, so that they could know their senders.” She said after that, she went back to her friend’s house, but could not stay there. “I went back again. I went through the bush path so that I could see them properly. I started jumping to see if I could see them. I jumped again but saw nothing. I jumped the second time and I saw Tekena. Tekena happened to be my brother. “I told myself that I was not seeing well, this thing is a lie. I jumped the third time, I saw Lloyd (one of the victims). So, I started shouting. From what I gathered, the first time I came, they said they were not known; that they were strangers. As I identified them, I started shouting. Ibisobia said she continued shouting that Tekena was her brother, saying that he came to her on Thursday in school and she gave him his school fees. “I told them that somebody should allow me to ask him what happened and what he came to do. He would confide in me. He was wailing and in a pool of blood.” “Tekena has been my younger brother for many years. I saw them as they lay in the water naked with leaves covering their nakedness.” His elder sister said she struggled and entered the crowd. Somebody shouted “Who is that? What is she doing inside?” “People were pushing me and I started crying. He is my brother! He is not a thief! Somebody behind me said O’girl run for your life. About two persons turned and asked, are you sure he is your brother, and said may be I was the person that sent him to go and steal.” Ibisobia replied them that how could she send him, that she did not look as such. ‘They said I should run for my life that I would be the next one, fifth person.” The young lady lamented that before she could get to her friend’s room to call her family members, she learnt that the mob had taken them to the burrow pit. “So, I went there again. One of the additional two arrested, Ikechukwu Louis Amadi alias Kapoon is the most wanted on the Police list who led the killing of the boys. Other suspects who includes a 24-year-old female, Cynthia Chinwo and the Aluu Community Chief, Alhaji Hassan Welewa are, Lawal Segun 28years, Lucky Orji 43 years, Ekpe Daniel 30 years, George Nwadei 30 years, and Gabriel Oche 33 years. Others are Ozioma Abajuo 23 years and Chigozie Evans Samuel 22 years, Endurance Edet, 27 years, Uwem Sampson Akpabio 30 years, and David Chinasa Ugbaje 30 years. Muhammad Indabawa also stated that the suspects were paraded against the philosophy of the Inspector-general of Police because of the gruesome manner in which the crime was committed coupled with the direct and glaring involvement of some the suspects and the interest generated by the heinous crime. He however said that investigations are still on to arrest others involved in the brutal killing of the four boys

BREAKING NEWS-POLICE ARREST THE MASTERMIND OF THE ALUU 4 KILLINGS

The Police in Rivers State said they have arrested the mastermind and prime suspect of the ALUU murder, Coxson Lerebori Lucky, aka Bright. Mr Lucky was declared wanted by the Nigerian Police on Monday for the brutal murder of four students of the University of Port Harcourt – Ugonna Obuzor (18) 200 Level Geology, Lloyd Toku (19) 200 Level Civil Engineering, Tekena Elkanah (20) a Diploma Technical student and Chiadika Biringa (20) 200 Level Theatre Arts. He allegedly raised the alarm which got the students killed. 21 people have so far been arrested and the IG of police has ordered an inquest into the alleged involvement of police men and have promised to bring to book any officer found involved in the killing.

ALUU FOLKS STILL REELING FROM DAMAGES CAUSED BY UNIPORT STUDENTS

Days after four students of the University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT) were murdered by a mob in Aluu , the community is speaking out about the issue. The community denied that its members were the ones that carried out the killings and demanded the immediate release of its traditional ruler, Alhaji Hassan Welewa. The people warned that they would not fold their hands against any further destruction of their community and the infliction of pains on them.They urged security agencies to take note of plans to attack Aluu community by some ethnic groups whose sons were victims of the mob action. Spokesman of Aluu Garshon Benson, who disclosed this during a media briefing attended by the chairman, Aluu Council of Chiefs, Richard Kalu, called for the release of the detained traditional ruler. Benson also called on security agencies to stop the harassment and arrests of innocent Aluu natives and urged the outfits to carry out a thorough investigation of the gruesome murder of the students and bring the culprits to book. He said: “It has come to our notice that some ethnic groups in the state whose sons were among those murdered on our soil are threatening to attack Aluu. We really sympathise with them for the loss of their children and reiterate that no Aluu man has a hand in their death. “We implore them to allow security agencies to fish out the actual killers of their sons, but also warn strongly that we will no longer fold our arms and watch further destruction of our communities and the infliction of pains and injuries on the good and law-abiding people of Aluu clan.”

THE TRUTH ABOUT THE ALUU 4 BY INSPECTOR GENERAL OF POLICE

LATEST INFORMATION REGARDING ON-GOING INVESTIGATIONS ON ALUU KILLINGS Rivers State: Murder of Four (4) Students of University of Port-Harcourt: On 5th October, 2012 at about 0700Hrs, based on a distress call that some armed robbers were arrested at Omukiri-Aluu area in Ikwerre LGA, a patrol team of four Policemen from Isiokpo Divisional Police Headquarters was dispatched to the area, a distance of about 10kms. The Police on getting to the scene met a mob attack on four victims who were supposedly the suspected armed robbers. Attempt made by the Police Patrol Team to take over the suspects were met with stiff opposition from the mob who chased the team with stones. Consequently, the Patrol Team called for reinforcements, but unfortunately, upon the arrival of the reinforcements, the alleged armed robbery suspects have been stoned and burnt to death, while the mob immediately took to their heels. The corpses were recovered by the Police who by then have been joined by members of the Joint Task Force (JTF). The victims were later identified to be students of University of Port Harcourt. They are namely: (i) Ugunna Obuzor- aged 18 Years; 200 Level Geology student; (ii) Lloyd Toku- aged 19 Years; 200 Level Civil Engineering student; (iii)Tekena Elkanah- aged 20 Years, a Diploma Technical student (iv)Chiadaka Odinga- aged 20 Years, 200 Level Theatre Arts student. The Police immediately launched an investigation leading to the arrest (based on information) of Alhaji Hassan Welewa, the Traditional Ruler of Omukiri Community, Aluu where the heinous incident took place and eighteen (18) others, some of who are members of the vigilante group of the community. Intelligence report implicated Alhaji Hassan Welewa, as being the person who incited the mob to unleash terror on the victims. Further investigation conducted by the police indicates that four (4) suspects, namely: Felemo Solomon; Cynthia Chinwo; Ozioma Abajuo and Chigozie Samuel Evans have been closely linked to this barbarous act. Findings have revealed that the victims had gone to the area where they met their unfortunate death earlier that morning to demand for money allegedly owed to them by Coxson Lelebori Lucky, alias ‘Bright’, who raised a false alarm that the victims were armed robbers. Although, Coxson has gone underground, Detectives are on his trail. Investigation is ongoing with efforts being intensified to track down others who are involved in the incident. Those who are found culpable shall be prosecuted. Meanwhile, massive deployment of Policemen has been made to the area, including detectives to assist the State Police Command. Normalcy has been restored in the area, while the situation in the area, especially in the University and other tertiary institutions are being closely monitored with a view to forestalling any untoward reactions. Efforts are being intensified to establish the motive(s) behind this crime, arrest all who may be directly or indirectly connected with the crime and eventually bring all indicted persons to book. I wish to use this medium to advice and appeal to Nigerians to see it as their civic obligation in the fight against crime and criminality, to assist security agencies in the discharge of their responsibility. Security is everybody’s responsibility and so, should not be abandoned in the hands of security agencies alone. The maximum cooperation of the public is needed to ensure that Nigeria is safe for all. Nigerians are further reminded to avoid taking laws into their hands, as two wrongs can never make a right. More so, it is criminal and against the laws of the land and those that do so will surely be made to face the full wrath of the law. In addition, the IGP appeals to citizens who might have information torching on this and other on-going Police investigation not to hesitate in turning over such information to the Nigeria Police Force. May I assure Nigerians that the Police Force will do everything legitimate, within its capacity, to ensure that perpetrators of these dastardly acts at Aluu in Rivers State are identified and made to face the law. HARARE MAN JAILED FOR ASSAULTING PROSTITUTE WIFE

A man from Harare in Zimbabwe was sentenced to three months in jail for severely assaulting his wife after he caught her committing an adulterous act with her lover in their matrimonial bed.
The wife , Jennifer Muranda (27), had been arrested for ' loitering for the purposes of prostitution'. On the day of the incident, she met with another man after being released from police custody. She headed home where she was caught red handed having sex with the man.

The case was adjudicated before an Mbare magistrate, Vicky Mashamba. State prosecutor, Ephraim Zinyandu asserted that on 29 September, Odey was at his place of employment at Joy Centre Night Club where he works as a bar man. At around 4am, Odey was informed that his wife had been arrested and was excused by his employer so that he could attend to his wife. At the police station where he was told that his wife had been released and proceeded straight home to House No. 5375 New Canaan, Highfield where he found his wife naked in the arms of her client. Enraged, he attacked the couple and Jennifer sustained serious injuries

The River State police Command announced that they have charged 11 suspects including  Alhaji Hassan Walewa who is said to be the traditional ruler of the Omuokiri-Aluu community in Port Harcourt,Rivers state of Nigeria.This statement is credited to the state Police Commissioner, Mr Mohammed Ndabawa who  has condemned the action of the accused as barbaric.

Nigeria needs to urgently address the dearth of Neurosurgeons currently practicing in the country. For a nation with a population of 160 million people,the current number of 40 practicing neurosurgeons in the country is rather appalling. This assertion was made by Professor Adefolarin Obanishola Malomo on August 23rd 2012 at the University of Ibadan Inaugural lecture titled 'Neurosurgery: Tinkering with the structure of the mind'. This was the 12th inaugural lecture for the 2011/2012 session. Professor Malomo who currently practices at the University College Hospital Ibadan,urged the relevant authorities to provide more funds to establish more training facilities in the country for Neurosurgeons.
