A Boeing 777 operated by Asiana Airlines which is one of the major airlines from South Korea crashed today as it was approaching the landing strip at San Francisco International Airport today. Asiana airline is one of the major airlines from South Korea, with the other one being Korea Air.
Flight 214 was said to the flown from Seoul's Incheon International Airport today and had been airborne for roughly 10 hours and 23 minutes enroute to San Francisco,California.
Details are still sketchy as to what really happened and the conditions today are perfect but I sincerely hope everyone made it out okay. This also brings attention to our flying habits as we fly frequently,we tend to pay minimal attention to the air hostesses as they talk to us about the safety measures like emergency exit sites.Maybe this incident could serve as a reminder that we need to pay attention to emergency procedures at the start of every flight, instead of continuing to play with our electronics discretely, read or stare out the window while the flight attendants go through the run-down on safety issues. You never know, they could save your life.A lot of folks ignore the instructions because they think it's more important to search for a book, adjust our head rests, fumble for a snack from carry-on luggages or read.Pay attention folks because that might mean the difference from finding an emergency exit easily in a smoke filled fuselage and dying because of delay in trying to figure this out in an emergency
Thanks so much for this piece.
ReplyDeleteI'm also guilty of not paying attention to the cabin crew during the safety demonstration. I guess some people just do not want to look green by concentrating too much so they just put on the "yeah, heard that many times before" attitude. Another reason could be the innate superstitious nature of the Nigerian man and they'll be like "in the event of a crash???God forbid! It can't happen" so they blank out the cabin crew in an attitude of faith!
Please do let us know any new information you get as events unfold.
Many thanks and God bless!
