UNILAG ORTHOPEDIC SURGEON,DR THOMAS ADEKOYE-COLE KILLED BY SUSPECTED ASSASSINS

Dr Thomas Adekoya-Cole, the Otunba More of Odomore was gruesomely murdered this morning in his hometown near Itele, Ogun State shortly after he was abducted from his home.
Dr Thomas Adekoya-Cole who worked with the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH), Idi-Araba area of Lagos state as a consultant orthopaedic surgeon has been reported killed – It was learnt that his assailant mercilessly macheted him till he died – The sad incident occurred in his home town of Itele in Ijebu Ode area of Ogun state some minutes after he was abducted by the unknown murderers The medical practitioner, who clocked 60 years this year February, was said to have been murdered in cold blood by some suspected sympathisers of a local native doctor.  It  appears that this might be related  to some fracas with a  native doctor at Ijebu Ode on the night of Saturday, May 28 during a ceremony. Information has it that men of the police force have apprehended the suspected murderers, in which sources claim are close to a society Adekoya-Cole belonged to, known as ‘Egbe Bobakeye Akile Ijebu.’

Consequently, people found him with machete wounds, before he was rushed to one hospital called Amazing Grace Hospital at Ijebu-Ode. 
All efforts by the doctors on ground to save him proved abortive, as he eventually gave up the ghost. A brief record of the late orthopedic surgeon was given. He had his secondary school education at St Anthony Grammar School, Ijebu-Mushin Ogun state. After finishing there, he got admitted to study medicine and surgery at University of Liberia. After a few years of graduating, he was employed as a senior registrar at the University College Hospital, Ibadan in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo state. He joined the services of College of Medicine of the University of Lagos Teaching Hospital (LUTH) after returning from Liberia. He was also a lecturer at LUTH until his sad demise.
