INSIDE PASTOR AYO ORITSEJAFOR'S JET

The recently acquired private jet for the President of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has raised many eyebrows especially due to the fact that many Nigerians are living in abject poverty while our religious leaders and politicians are busy acquiring private Jets. The picture above tells the sad irony of what is going on inside Nigeria. If a pastor is flying an executive Jet while more than half of the congregation are wallowing in poverty, what explanation does the pastor have for such an anomaly. While accepting a gift may be okay, but can't the man of God sell the Jet and put the money to good use to touch the lives of his flock like setting up scholarships, giving soft loans to help kick start small scale industries that will employ members of his church? Recall that there is a lot to owning a Jet,two pilots are needed to fly it and members of the crew need to be as many as six to seven. You also have to factor in the maintenance cost and the cost of parking the Jet in a hanger. How will this costs be taken care of of when the level of unemployment in the land even amongst christians is almost 60-70% in the entire country. How do a man of God feel comfortable living in opulence when members of his flock are living in abject poverty. The cost of maintaining a private Jet is not cheap and the money could have been been better spent on providing quality education for the kids, good affordable hospital but in Nigeria we have a failed state where the roads are horrible, public education has collapsed, private education is out of the reach of the poor while our corrupt politicians cruise around in private Jets and now our celebrity pastors have joined the league as private Jet owners all over the country while the poor masses continue to suffer.
