I am sure that he Senator is so keen to maintain this stance because he has a lot of underaged brides.
My question for the Senator is that,don't you think that in modern day times,any girl who has not completed high school should not be belabored with raising children and dealing with being a wife.
We need to allow our girls to mature emotionally and get adequate education before we hand them over to leecherous old men as child brides while hiding under the garb of religion. There are many women who are above 18 years in Northern Nigeria who are single and searching for a husband. Why don't Senator Yerima and his band of pro child marriage friends focus their energy on these women who are above 18 instead of going after children. Just because you commence menstruation and start sprouting breasts does not make you mentally and emotionally matured to be saddled with the responsibility of marriage!!!
