SUPER EAGLES DEFEAT ETHIOPIA 2-1 IN ADDIS ABABA

The Super Eagles of Nigeria defeated Ethiopia in Addis Ababa by two goals to one.
The African Champions had a rather mediocre first half and were lucky for have a genuine Ethiopian goal
disallowed by the referee after it had crossed the Nigerian goal line. The first half ended goal less and at the 56th minute,Ethiopian player Behailu Asseffa ran towards the Nigerian half and crossed a ball that was heading towards goal but Nigerian goal keeper and Captain Vincent Enyeama poorly handled the ball leading to a freak goal. The goal seemed to have spurred the Eagles into action until Emmanuel Emenike hammered a wicked shot outside the Ethiopian box to beat the Ethiopian goalie. As both teams struggled to find a winner,Nigeria was rewarded with a 90th minute penalty when power playing striker Emmanuel Emenike was bundled down in the Ethiopian box which he calmly converted to seal the victory for Nigeria giving the Super Eagles a desired advantage. The return leg comes up in Calabar in a months time.
